Looking for the best Haleiwa restaurants to add to your North Shore food adventure? You’ve come to the right place! Haleiwa, the charming surf town on Oahu’s North Shore, is bursting with personality, laid-back vibes, and some of the most mouthwatering eats on the island. From fresh poke bowls to farm-to-table delights, this little slice of paradise has it all.

Having spent so much time on Oahu, I completely fell in love with Haleiwa. It’s the kind of place where flip-flops are the dress code, local flavors are celebrated, and every meal feels like a cozy invitation to savor the aloha spirit! Let’s dig in!

Best Haleiwa Restaurants on Oahu

1. Haleiwa Joe’s

Haleiwa Joe’s is hands-down one of the best dining experiences you can have on Oahu. While we visited their Kaneohe location (which, by the way, is a must-do when you’re in that area!), I have no doubt their Haleiwa restaurant delivers the same level of perfection.

The food? Immaculate. The drinks? Absolutely gold-standard. We loved it so much that we went twice during our trip—proof that this spot is pure magic!

Pro tip: get there early if you want to try their legendary prime rib. It’s first-come, first-serve and sells out almost every night. (One order is huge—easily feeds 2-3 people!) Don’t skip the seafood chowder either, and be prepared to fall in love with the homemade guava butter (a must-eat on Oahu) they serve with their rolls.

Hawaii’s Mai Tais are famous, but the ones at Haleiwa Joe’s might just take the crown. Go big and get the giant one to share—it’s worth it!

2. Haleiwa Beach House

Haleiwa Beach House is a gem when it comes to stunning views and a chill vibe. If you’re looking for a Haleiwa restaurant that’s perfect for a laid-back lunch, this is it! The scenic terrace offers an unbeatable spot to soak in the North Shore’s beauty while enjoying a peaceful meal.

Their lunch menu has something for everyone—think salads, soups, sandwiches, and hearty bowls. We decided to get a little adventurous with the spicy tuna club (surprisingly delicious!) and paired it with their beach house fries, which are an absolute must-try.

The drink menu is equally exciting, featuring fresh, tropical ingredients like guava juice, coconut water, and lilikoi puree (passionfruit). These vibrant flavors are such a fun switch-up from the usual drinks you’ll find on the mainland! Whether you’re craving a refreshing cocktail or a colorful mocktail, Haleiwa Beach House knows how to serve up the island vibes.

3. Aji Limo

While it may technically be a food truck, Aji Limo easily earns its spot as one of the best Haleiwa restaurants! One thing is for sure—no trip to Haleiwa is complete without experiencing at least one food truck meal, and this one is a must-visit.

Aji Limo serves up a unique and mouthwatering blend of Peruvian and Japanese flavors, also known as Nikkei cuisine. The truck’s vibrant and artistic design will catch your eye, but it’s the menu that will keep you coming back. From fresh seafood dishes to satisfying vegetarian options, there’s something here for everyone to love.

Pro Tip: You’ll find Aji Limo alongside several other food trucks right across from Sharks Cove, a North Shore hotspot. It’s the perfect lunch break after a morning of snorkeling and exploring the underwater beauty of the area (which, let’s be honest, is one of the best things to do on the North Shore)!

4. Banzai Sushi Bar

Banzai Sushi Bar is such a must-visit when exploring the best Haleiwa restaurants! If you’re a sushi lover like me, this spot will quickly become your go-to.

Their California Tempura Roll is an absolute game-changer— the entire roll is deep-fried, and yes, it’s just as amazing as it sounds. But don’t worry, if you’re looking for something a bit lighter, their menu is packed with fresh and flavorful options to suit every sushi craving.

What really sets Banzai apart is the vibe. You can opt for traditional floor seating, which adds an authentic touch to your dining experience. With their motto “keep it raw, keep it real,” they deliver on freshness and quality.

Pair your sushi with one of their specialty cocktails, wines, or beers, and you’ve got the perfect night out. This is one spot I make a point to revisit every time I’m on Oahu!

5. Kono’s Northshore

Kono’s has several locations on the island (we visited them all because we liked it that much!), so no matter where you are, you can most likely find their heavenly Kalua pig plates, breakfast bombers, and milkshakes.

The Kalua pork nachos are in a league of their own. Trust me, once you’ve tried Kono’s version, no other pulled pork nacho will ever compare! The guava BBQ sauce they top their Kalua pork with adds a sweet, smoky kick that’ll have you coming back for more.

If you’re craving something different, their sliders, plates, and bowls hit the spot every time. And of course, you can’t leave without trying one of their milkshakes. With over a dozen flavors to choose from, it’s a tough decision, but we absolutely loved the strawberry cheesecake— total bliss in a cup!

6. Sunrise Shack

Sunrise Shack is a must-stop Haleiwa restaurant that you’ve probably seen all over Instagram, and for good reason! With its vibrant, fun atmosphere and mouthwatering bowls, it’s an absolute favorite among locals and visitors. Whether you’re in the mood for one of their signature bowls or want to customize your own, there’s something for everyone. And if smoothies are more your vibe, they’ve got you covered there too!

Make sure to check out their iconic location on Sunset Beach (which is as photogenic as it gets) or pop by their newer spot at Sharks Cove— it’s the perfect pit stop after a morning of snorkeling or exploring! Either way, Sunrise Shack is a total vibe and definitely worth your time!

7. Farm to Barn

Farm To Barn is the ultimate healthy cafe that’s as refreshing as its cold-pressed juices! Located just a short distance from its own organic farm, this spot offers a true farm-to-table experience. While their juices are mouthwatering, we were in the mood for something a little sweeter, so we dove into one of their incredible acai bowls. Let me tell you, it was both delicious and surprisingly affordable!

This place easily makes my list of the best acai bowls on Oahu, and if you’re craving more than just a bowl, they’ve got you covered with sandwiches, salads, and more. Plus, the views here are simply stunning— perfect for relaxing and enjoying your meal while taking in the beautiful Oahu scenery!

8. Haleiwa Bowls

Haleiwa Bowls is the perfect place to indulge in high-quality, fresh, and local ingredients! Staying true to Hawaiian trends, their acai bowls are a must-try. We went for the local bowl, which was packed with frozen acai puree and topped with a dreamy mix of granola, fruit poi, bananas, papaya, strawberries, Maui bee pollen, raw honey, and coconut flakes.

For a truly authentic experience, you can even opt to have your acai bowl served in their signature coconut bowl— how cute is that?

Which of these amazing restaurants in Haleiwa are you checking out first?!

And there you have it— a round-up of the best Haleiwa restaurants that are guaranteed to make your taste buds dance! From fresh acai bowls to mouthwatering sushi and unforgettable seafood, Haleiwa truly has something for everyone.
