Best Things to Do in Cabo in December

1. Swim with Whale Sharks

Swimming with whale sharks is one of the most unique things to do in Cabo San Lucas! These gentle giants—the largest fish in the ocean—make their way to Cabo’s waters every winter.

Imagine gliding through crystal-clear water alongside these magnificent creatures, which can grow up to 40 feet (12 meters) long! Despite their massive size, they’re incredibly docile, making for an unforgettable and surprisingly serene encounter.

While the weather can sometimes throw a wrench in plans (like it did with ours, sigh), the best months to swim with whale sharks in Cabo are from October to March. So if you’re visiting during this time, don’t miss the chance to meet these beautiful ocean icons!

2. Snorkel + Boat Day

Our snorkel and boat day with Cabo Adventures was pure magic! The tour takes you sailing on a luxe catamaran, basking in the sun, and cruising toward Cabo’s most stunning bays—Santa Maria and Chileno. These spots are famous for their vibrant marine life and pristine coral reefs and trust me, they live up to the hype!

Once anchored, you get to dive in and explore a world of colorful fish, beautiful coral, and other incredible underwater creatures. Snorkeling is just the beginning, though—when we went whales were breaching in the distance, adding a pinch-me moment to an already epic day.

Post-snorkeling, the catamaran transforms into a chill haven. Sip on refreshing drinks from the open bar, enjoy a delicious lunch, and lounge on the sun deck as the waves gently rock you into total bliss.
