As someone who loves exploring new cafes when I travel, I felt lucky to try several coffee shops in Traverse City, and they were all so good and adorable! Traverse City might feel like a small town, but its coffee shop selection is impressive. Cafe hopping quickly became one of my favorite activities in Traverse City, and I’m excited to share my must-visit spots with you!
Awesome coffee shops in Traverse City
Mundos Roasting & Co
Mundos seemed to be one of the most popular coffee shops in Traverse City. It has three convenient locations: two downtown and one near the airport. I absolutely loved their strawberry matcha—it was so good, that I accidentally chugged it!
The aesthetic here is the cutest, and they make all their syrups in-house, adding a nice fresh flavor to their drinks. Remi enjoyed his coconut latte, which was also perfectly crafted.
We checked out their Mundos 305 location which had a welcoming atmosphere that felt perfect for enjoying a quiet morning or catching up with friends!
Outpost
Located right in the heart of downtown Traverse City, Outpost is also known for making their syrups in-house, which I always feel adds such a nice personal touch. While their matcha wasn’t my favorite, I did enjoy my cappuccino! I prefer mine a little on the sweeter side so I did ask for some extra pumps of their house-made vanilla.
We had just grabbed lunch elsewhere unfortunately for us because the fresh breads and baked goods they offer looked divine. This Traverse City coffee shop felt like the perfect spot for a coffee and snack break, and the central location makes it a convenient stop while exploring downtown.
Factory Man Roasting House
Factory Man Roasting House has a cozy vibe with super cute decor, including puzzles you can do while you sip. I really liked their cold brew with cold foam, and later discovered they were offering a cherry cold foam I would have loved to try!
The ambiance here is perfect for those looking to relax and unwind with a good book or some quiet conversation. They also have a nice lunch menu if you come hungry.
Hexenbelle
Hexenbelle, located downtown across from Hotel Indigo, is a trendy spot with a ton of plants, creating a lush and inviting environment. The vibe here is so cute and inviting—I wanted to move in and make it my bedroom!
I enjoyed a super delicious vanilla caramel iced latte, which was perfectly balanced and refreshing. They have a nice menu with plenty of dairy-free and vegan options, perfect for anyone with dietary restrictions. Also, even if you get your coffee to go it they give it to you in a glass cup with a lid!
The combination of great coffee, friendly service, and beautiful decor makes Hexenbelle a must-visit coffee shop in Traverse City.
Water Bearer Coffee
Water Bearer Coffee is located in Warehouse MRKT along with Hexenbelle and several cute little shops. The coffee shop is covered in shades of blue, aiming to spark creativity and inspire. I really found the vibe here to be unique and perfect for getting some work done. We got a vanilla iced latte and it was lovely, another Traverse City coffee shop that uses house-made syrups!
Many of their ingredients are locally sourced, and they have a food menu that complements their coffee offerings. They also offer alternatives for meat and gluten-free bread to cater to a variety of dietary needs.
Cuppa Joe
Cuppa Joe is a convenient stop, especially if you’re heading to the airport. It was the perfect pitstop for us on our way out as it was one of the few coffee shops open on a Sunday! This little drive-thru delivered a great cup of coffee—I loved my iced latte that had an extra punch of espresso.
Despite being a drive-thru, the quality of their coffee is top-notch, and it’s a great quick option. They actually have three locations throughout Traverse City though, ensuring that you can get your coffee fix no matter where you are.
