Minca Hostel Review: Siembra Boutique Hostel

Location + Setting

Siembra Boutique Hostel is the kind of place that makes you feel like you’re escaping to a secret hideaway. This stunning hostel in Minca blends seamlessly with the stunning natural surroundings.

Imagine being surrounded by lush gardens, sweeping mountain views, and fresh air all around—it’s truly paradise. Plus, it’s close enough to town that you’re not too far from everything but still feels like you’re tucked away in nature. It’s only about a mile from the center, so you can easily access the Pozo Azul waterfalls and the Los Pinos viewpoint, both must-see spots.

Out of all the hostels in Minca, I picked Siembra because of how it perfectly balances being in nature with easy access to everything!

Accommodation Options

Siembra Boutique Hostel has a little something for everyone. Whether you want your own quiet space or you’re down for some new friends and shared stories, they’ve got you covered.

We stayed in a private room with a bathroom, which was perfect for us. It was around $75/night when we went to Colombia in July. If you’re traveling solo or want to meet new people, their dorms are a great option too. They have bunk beds, lockers, and shared bathrooms, so it’s super budget-friendly and social.

I gotta be honest, the rooms aren’t luxurious, but when you’re in Minca, you’ll be spending more time exploring than hanging out inside, right? Just FYI, not all rooms come with AC, so be sure to check if that’s a must-have for you when booking.

Facilities + Common Areas

The common areas at Siembra are perfect for just chilling out. There’s a cozy lounge for when you want to relax with a book or chat with other travelers. And if you’re into yoga or meditation, the outdoor spaces are ideal for that too—plus the views are unreal.

And, let’s talk about the pool! After a long day of exploring, there’s nothing better than taking a dip in their refreshing pool. The free Wi-Fi and on-site restaurant are great, and there’s even a spa if you’re in the mood for a little pampering.

On-Site Restaurant and Bar

One of the highlights of our stay at Siembra Boutique Hostel had to be the food! We were so excited when we booked through Booking.com and saw that breakfast was included (because who doesn’t love free breakfast, right?).

Let me tell you, it was seriously delicious. The spread was fresh, with locally sourced fruits, homemade bread, and the most amazing spreads. It was such a perfect way to start the day!

After a long day of exploring Minca, having the convenience of an on-site restaurant was a total lifesaver. The dinner was full of authentic Colombian flavors that really let us savor the essence of the region’s culinary culture. And I can’t forget to mention the mango pina colada—talk about vacation vibes in a glass!

Whether you’re craving local Colombian dishes or international options, Siembra Boutique Hostel nails it. Each meal became a highlight of our stay, and the cozy atmosphere of the restaurant added to the whole vibe of being in a true Minca oasis.

One of my personal favorite features of our stay at Siembra Boutique Hostel was the exceptional dining experience! When we booked through Booking.com, we were thrilled to discover that our stay included a complimentary breakfast!

Let me tell you, we were blown away by how beautifully presented and delicious the FREE breakfast was! Fresh, locally sourced fruits, homemade bread, and delightful spreads were the perfect start to our day.

The convenience of having an onsite restaurant was an absolute treat, especially after a long day of travel and exploring when all we wanted to do was shower and unwind in our amazing Minca hostel. The hostel’s kitchen crafted a dinner bursting with authentic Colombian flavors, truly allowing us to savor the essence of the region’s culinary heritage.

And oh, their mango pina colada was the epitome of vacation vibes, reminding us that we were indeed in paradise!

With a perfect blend of local Colombian cuisine and international delights, Siembra Boutique Hostel’s dining experience became an integral part of our Minca journey. Each meal was a cherished moment that enriched our stay and left us with fond memories of our time at this welcoming oasis in Minca.

Social + Community Atmosphere

The moment we arrived, we could feel how welcoming and warm the vibe was. The common areas—the lounge, restaurant, and pool—are perfect for mingling and meeting other travelers.

The staff really makes it easy to feel at home, and solo travelers especially will find it so easy to strike up conversations and make new friends. There were always fun group activities like guided hikes to waterfalls, yoga sessions, and even bonfires at night, which brought everyone together.

Plus, Siembra doesn’t just focus on fun; they also host cultural events and workshops that give you a deeper understanding of Colombia’s heritage. On top of that, they’re big on sustainability, with eco-friendly initiatives and opportunities to volunteer. It’s an awesome way to connect with the local community while traveling.

Exploring Minca from Siembra Boutique Hostel

If you’re into hiking, there are so many trails leading to gorgeous viewpoints and waterfalls, like the Pozo Azul and Marinka Waterfall treks. Birdwatchers will be in their element, as Minca is home to over 300 species of birds—you might even spot some right from the hostel. Coffee lovers can immerse themselves in the world of local coffee by visiting nearby plantations and tasting fresh, locally brewed coffee.

If you want a more relaxed vibe, the hostel’s tranquil setting is perfect for yoga and wellness retreats. You’ll also find plenty of opportunities to dive into Colombia’s rich cultural heritage.
