If you’re wondering what to expect from a Tulum bachelorette party—think dreamy beach vibes, boho-chic spots, and the perfect mix of fun and relaxation. We genuinely had the BEST time ever on this trip, and I can’t wait to share all the details with you! I almost picked Tulum for my 30th birthday but decided on Cabo instead for a couples trip (which was amazing!). But after this bachelorette party experience, I’m so glad I saved Tulum for a girls’ trip. It truly is the perfect place for an unforgettable celebration with your girlfriends!

We spent three full days soaking in everything this beautiful place has to offer, and honestly, it was the ideal amount of time. From cenote swimming to late-night dancing, this Tulum bachelorette itinerary is sure to give you the perfect mix!

Getting to Tulum

Before diving into the epic bachelorette party itinerary, let’s talk about getting to Tulum. The new Tulum airport opened at the end of 2023, so you can absolutely fly directly there. However, we opted to fly into Cancun and arranged for a private driver to transfer us to our vacation rental in Tulum. Our host organized the transfer, and splitting it between nine girls, it came out to just $55 per person for round-trip service.

If this isn’t an option for you, you can check out this well-rated, affordable transfer option from Cancun Airport to Tulum.

We flew from Orlando to Cancun because it was cheaper. Plus, the Orlando to Cancun flight was direct, unlike the Tampa to Cancun or Orlando to Tulum options, which had some pretty ridiculous layovers. My advice? Weigh your options and choose what works best for you!

Day 1

Morning: arrive and brunch

After arriving in Tulum, kick off the bach party with a chef-prepared brunch at your rental. Typically, these rentals have incredible hosts who are very familiar with bachelorette parties or girls’ trips and can connect you with any service you need, making your stay effortless and memorable.

Our host arranged a welcome brunch for us, and it was the perfect way to start our trip—delicious food and total relaxation!

Afternoon: relax or explore

For the afternoon, you have two options: either soak up the vibes at your stunning rental or venture out to explore Tulum. We were so in love with our rental that we decided to stay in and unwind.

Evening: sunset at Azulik + dinner at Ilios

Azulik

In the evening, make your way to Azulik for a breathtaking sunset experience at their rooftop, Mirador. Note that there is a $1,000 MXN admission fee (about $50), which includes a welcome drink.

This floating space is designed to immerse you in a one-of-a-kind hanging rooftop experience. Though we weren’t aware of the fee beforehand, we decided to go for it because the place looked so beautiful—and it was worth every penny!

This place is truly a work of art. My jaw was on the ground the entire time. Also, the mezcal cocktail I had was absolutely divine. The vibes were great, with a house DJ setting the perfect mood.

Pro tip: BRING BUG SPRAY! We were getting eaten alive, but luckily they had some on hand.

Ilios

Afterward, head to dinner at Ilios. Be sure to make a reservation for around 8:30 PM so you’re all set when the fire show begins at 9 PM—trust me, it’s an experience you won’t want to miss! This was easily one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. The food was exceptional, but the entertainment truly took it to another level.

The atmosphere is magical, with amazing music and contagious energy. After the fire show, the fun continues with plate-breaking (OPA!), dancing on the bar, and even dancing with sparklers. The entire night felt like a celebration, and it’s an experience I’ll be repeating every time I come to Tulum! (Check out my Reel for a better taste of what you can expect.)

After dinner, you can continue to bar hop in the main area or head back for the night (which is what we did since we had an early morning the next day).

Day 2

Morning: boat day

You guys, our boat day with Tulum Charters was an ABSOLUTE BLAST. We kicked off our day with a 4-hour boat tour that started at 9 AM, and it was everything we could have hoped for. You have the option to snorkel or head to a sandbar. We planned to snorkel, but the water was too rough, so we opted for the sandbar instead—and honestly, it was SO much fun!

The price includes an open bar and some light bites, and let me tell you, the staff was AMAZING! They really read the room (or the boat in this case) and catered to our vibe perfectly. We were in full-on party mode, and they definitely delivered with tequila shots flowing and good times all around.

The water was stunning—clear, blue, and so refreshing. We even got to jump off the front of the boat! It was such an epic time, and I truly can’t recommend this excursion enough.

Late afternoon: poolside fun + siesta

We got back to our rental around 2 PM and kept the party going with a little more swimming in the pool before taking a much-needed nap. After all that fun in the sun, it was the perfect way to recharge for the night ahead.

Evening: dinner + dancing at Gitano Jungle Tulum

After a good nap, it’s time to get ready for another perfect evening. We headed to Gitano Jungle Tulum, which is an absolute VIBE—think disco in the jungle. It’s inspired by the lush tropical jungle and Spanish colonial towns of the Yucatan, making it a bohemian paradise.

We had a reservation for 9:30 PM, but heads up: there’s often a line outside, and even with a reservation, we didn’t get to the front until 10 PM. They asked us to wait another 20 minutes, but one of the girls in our group wasn’t having it, and we were promptly seated.

While the entry process was a bit frustrating, once inside, the service was top-notch! The food and drinks came quickly, and the atmosphere was so cool. My advice? Definitely make a reservation, but maybe aim for 8:30 PM to avoid the wait, or at least not be too hangry while you’re waiting.

The food was full of flavor, and the drinks were perfection—Tulum really knows how to do mezcal cocktails right. After dinner, you can either stay out and keep the party going or head back. I called it a night around midnight, but the option to dance the night away is definitely there!

Day 3

Morning: ease into the day

After a couple of days packed with fun and excitement, take this morning to unwind and gather yourself for an even more relaxing afternoon. The agenda today is all about embracing the chill vibes.

Afternoon: Vesica Tulum

Around 11 AM, make your way to Vesica Tulum, where relaxation meets adventure. I feel like a cenote is a must-do on any Tulum bachelorette party itinerary—it’s such a unique experience you can’t find everywhere!

Vesica is like a dreamy combination of day club, cenote, and spa, making it the perfect spot to spend a day. The entrance fee is $300 Mexican Pesos (about $15 USD) with a minimum consumption of $500 Mexican Pesos (around $25 USD), which is super easy to hit. The drinks were amazing, the food was bursting with flavor, and the atmosphere was just what we needed.

The day pass includes high-speed Wi-Fi, a towel, and a lounge chair, and we lucked out with an amazing area to chill in! The staff here were beyond sweet and super helpful—we were obsessed!

We had reserved massages in advance (highly recommend this!) and they were the perfect way to unwind after a weekend of partying. We loved Vesica Tulum so much that we ended up staying until they closed at 6 PM.

Check out my Reel on Vesica Tulum for a better idea of what you can expect!

Evening: cozy night in

After a full day of relaxation at the cenote, head back to your rental for a cozy evening in. We had our own little after-party, blasting music, swimming in the pool, sipping on margaritas, and just enjoying each other’s company.

To top off the night, we had the chefs come back to cook us some delicious tacos for dinner. It was the perfect way to wind down after an incredible weekend in Tulum!

Here are some bonus tour or activity options in case you want to swap out any of my recommendations or add more to your itinerary:

Where to stay in Tulum

When it comes to accommodations in Tulum, I highly recommend opting for an Airbnb or VRBO, especially if you’re traveling with a group. One of my favorite parts of the trip was spending quality time with all the girls—getting ready together, lounging by our private pool, and just soaking up those vacation vibes. The great thing about Tulum is that there are so many incredible options to choose from, and the homes are absolutely stunning.

One thing to note is that many of these beautiful homes aren’t directly on the beach. However, we had a private driver for the entire trip, which made it super easy to get around. Our host organized the driver for us, and it ended up being much more affordable than other options I researched—so I definitely recommend speaking with your host or hotel for the best deals.

Another thing that I loved about staying in a rental was the personalized service provided by our host. They connected us with private chefs who prepared the most delicious meals, arranged tours, and even stocked the fridge with groceries we selected before we arrived. This level of service made our trip seamless and stress-free, allowing us to focus on enjoying our time together.

If you prefer a hotel experience, Tulum has plenty of gorgeous options as well. Mi Amor Boutique Hotel is a beautiful adults-only choice right on the beach, and it’s not too far from the action either.

Essential tips for your Tulum bachelorette party

  1. Duration: Three days is a great length for a bachelorette party in Tulum. It provides a balanced mix of activities and relaxation, allowing you and your group to fully enjoy everything Tulum has to offer without feeling rushed. However, feel free to adjust based on your group’s availability and preferences.
  2. Safety: Tulum is generally a safe destination for travelers, but it’s important to stay vigilant. Stick together when exploring, avoid isolated areas at night, and keep your valuables secure. Always inform someone in your group of your whereabouts and have a plan in case of emergencies.
  3. Budget: While it’s hard to pinpoint an exact cost, budgeting is crucial. Consider expenses for accommodation, activities, meals, transportation, and souvenirs. Setting a budget early on helps manage expectations and ensures everyone is comfortable with the financial commitment.
  4. Splitwise: Managing group expenses can be tricky, but Splitwise is a great tool for tracking who paid for what and who owes what. Although the payment processing time can be a bit annoying, it’s a valuable tool for maintaining financial transparency and fairness within your group, making it easier to settle up at the end of the trip.
  5. Currency: The local currency in Tulum is the Mexican Peso, but many places accept USD. Be aware that using USD might result in higher charges due to currency conversion rates. I’d suggest to have a mix of both Pesos and USD. Credit cards are widely accepted in most places, but smaller venues and some services might prefer cash, so plan accordingly.
  6. Plan activities in advance: Popular activities in Tulum, such as boat charters, cenote visits, and spa treatments, can book up quickly. Reserving these experiences ahead of time through your host or a trusted local service ensures you secure your spots and often at better prices. Planning ahead helps you make the most of your time and avoid last-minute hassles.
